🏛️ History and Structure

  • The idea for a port in Cabedelo emerged in the 19th century, inspired by studies and proposals aimed at compensating for the silting of the capital’s old port. In 1905, the project was sanctioned by decree, with construction beginning in 1908, and the pier completed in 1917. After several work stoppages, the Port of Cabedelo was officially inaugurated on January 23, 1935.

  • Until 1978, the port was managed by the State of Paraíba. It was subsequently transferred to federal administration until it was finally transferred to Docas-PB on February 4, 1998, through an agreement between the federal government and the state government.
